Our Background

Personal Profile

The history of rocketry at NJIT greatly predates our current club. The earliest rocketry- and space-focused organization was a chapter of the American Rocket Society (ARS), founded in 1957, predating the federation of NJIT itself by nearly two decades. This ARS chapter is believed to have folded during the 1960s.

In the decades since, students have repeatedly attempted to create a successor organization on campus. These efforts ultimately culminated in the founding of the modern NJIT Rocketry Club in 2024 by undergraduate students KesUranNu Baylor and Emmanuel Cruzat, with the support of Prof. Mark Chiusano.
